The Office of Global Engagement
Mission Statement
The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) advances the University of Georgia’s comprehensive internationalization to strengthen UGA’s global presence, reputation, and impact. OGE supports the international activities of UGA faculty, students, and staff and fosters a supportive environment for international students and scholars on campus. OGE promotes cross-cultural understanding, facilitates innovation in research and instruction, and collaborates with partners and communities worldwide in mutually beneficial ways.
Global Education enables students to engage deeply with the world and critically reflect on their roles as global citizens through transformative study abroad experiences that strengthen career readiness and promote student success. Immigration Services sponsors and advises international students and scholars who add their perspectives and expertise to UGA’s educational and research enterprise. International Initiatives develops sustainable partnerships and facilitates international research collaborations that enhance UGA’s global stature while addressing the grand challenges facing our interconnected world.
The Office of Global Engagement supports UGA’s land and sea-grant commitment to teaching, research, and service by expanding educational opportunities for students in Georgia, attracting world-class talent to the state, and building international research networks that generate new knowledge and foster economic development in Georgia.
