The Office of Global Engagement (OGE), overseen by Associate Provost Noel Fallows, is an administrative unit at the University of Georgia that provides multiple complex services to support globalizing efforts at UGA including: the Global Education unit that promotes, sponsors and administers an extensive portfolio of domestic field study and international education opportunities; the Immigration Services unit that supports the intake of international students and scholars; International Campuses at Cortona, Italy and Oxford, UK; the International Initiatives unit that focuses on faculty-led and externally-funded international projects; and the Information Technology and Finance and Operations units that support our various initiatives.
The OGE team is active on the regional, national and international conference circuits, and has a strong track-record of putting theory into practice and achieving collective results. OGE’s contributions have been recognized with awards, scholarship endowments and extramural funding in the areas of teaching, research, diversity and inclusion, and development. Among the unit’s most significant achievements to date, UGA is currently ranked 6th nationally by IIE Open Doors in numbers of study abroad participants. Major awards include the NAFSA Senator Paul Simon Spotlight Award for Innovative Internationalization and the Forum on Education Abroad Award for Excellence in Curriculum Design.
