We Came As Strangers But Left As Cortonese

John Daniel “Jack” Kehoe was a sculptor and professor at the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art, where he taught and served as an administrator for more than thirty years.

In 1970 Jack founded the UGA Cortona Studies Abroad in Cortona program, which he directed for twenty years. During his tenure as Director, his extraordinary passion for art, teaching, and Cortona developed UGA Cortona into one of the pre-eminent international art programs based in Italy.

Most importantly, in establishing a study abroad program of unique quality and character, Jack created a community of artists and educators dedicated to international art education, and to the culture and history of Cortona.
