Strategic Mobility Call

Call for Proposals

To be Published Monday, August 25th

Deadline: Monday, October 20th, 2025

The Strategic Mobility Call is open to tenured and tenure-track faculty from any discipline at UGA seeking to collaborate with colleagues at an institute of higher education or research institute located in partner countries abroad, including the Republic of Korea, Germany, and the United Kingdom. This program is centered around the bilateral exchange of faculty and is intended to facilitate new, self-sustaining academic partnerships with international colleagues, with reciprocal faculty exchange being the principal goal of the program.

Proposals which demonstrate a commitment to a reciprocal visit to Athens by the international colleague prior to the close of calendar year 2026 and which identify a targeted source of future extramural funding to be pursued during that timeframe will be preferred over purely speculative projects. While there is no requirement that the international institution being visited is an existing UGA partner, proposals will be favorably considered that deepen relationships with institutions with which UGA has a successful record of collaboration and with which UGA faculty will have the greatest likelihood of generating significant academic output and future extramural funding. This call includes partnerships with the institutions of University of Liverpool (UoL) and University of Leeds in the United Kingdom and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) in Germany.

There is no requirement that the Korean institution being visited is an existing UGA partner; however, proposals will be favorably considered that deepen relationships with Korean institutions with which UGA has a successful record of collaboration and with which UGA faculty will have the greatest likelihood of generating significant academic output and future extramural funding. Applicants must complete proposed travel by Friday, June 26, 2026.
