International Faculty Travel in FY24

The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce the allocation of new funds to support international faculty travel in FY24. Effective immediately, these international travel funds will be managed by the Office of Global Engagement.

International travel is defined as travel outside the 48 contiguous states. These funds are intended for full-time faculty who are invited and/or accepted to attend an international conference or venue to present a scholarly paper or creative work.

International travel funding support is limited to one trip per faculty member in FY24. Requests must include at least 1:1 matching funds for consideration. A maximum of $2,000 in funding per faculty trip is available. Travel must take place between July 1, 2023, and June 25, 2024.

Beginning in FY24, faculty will have the opportunity to apply for additional funds supporting a connected visit to a new or existing international partner for the purpose of developing joint research, recruiting graduate students, or facilitating new institutional collaboration. Relevant documentation clearly identifying the activity to be undertaken will be required, including an invitation letter from the partner. Up to an additional $500 (no matching funds required) will be available. The funds can be applied to lodging, transportation, and meal expenses of the traveler.

Faculty requesting additional funding for partnership development must attach an invitation letter from the partner on institutional letterhead that clearly identifies the proposed activity for which supplemental support is being sought and contains supporting information (invitation to give a lecture, workshop or seminar, official schedule of meetings, or formal evidence of joint research).
