The University of Georgia is hosting the 37th annual Study Away Fair on Thursday and Friday, September 14th and 15th in the Tate Atrium.
Organized by the Office of Global Engagement, the fair will feature exhibitors showcasing Study Away programs that are led by UGA faculty, programs offered at UGA’s two International Centers in Oxford, England and Cortona, Italy, and programs run through international partner universities and other providers. The fair is free and open to all UGA students.
“I am glad that once again we are able to continue a nearly 40-year legacy of an annual face-to-face UGA Study Away Fair.” Said Yana Cornish, Director of Global Education. “This event offers our students a unique opportunity to explore the variety of UGA study away options and speak with program organizers face-to-face.”
During the fair, students will be able to attend an Education Abroad 101 session. The information session covers multiple items including how to choose a program that fits their course of study, specific information on program schedules and cost, and scholarships and other funding assistance options. Program directors, Global Education Advisors, and Global Education Junior Advisors (students who have already studied abroad) will also be available to answer students’ questions. Additionally, students will be able to look into programs for every major, including experiential learning and internship opportunities.
Global Education is a general term covering everything from traditional study abroad to interning, working, volunteering and conducting research abroad. During the 2018-2019 academic year, almost 3,200 UGA students studied abroad, traveling to more than 60 countries.
